Michal Lemberger came to jewelry design by way of writing, editing, and teaching. She studied and taught ancient and modern literature for many years, and in the process deepened her engagement with history and her appreciation for the stories that people have told of themselves and the objects they created, wore, and used.

Michal began studying jewelry-making techniques with master goldsmiths and teachers, seeking out instructors whose passion for teaching and the craftsmanship of the well-made object matched her own. Long enamored with color and texture, she was drawn to jewelry because of its blend of technical precision and aesthetic beauty, as well as the ways in which jewelry connects us to the past and the physical world. Above all, she wants to see and feel the hand of the artist at work in every piece.

In 2023, she channeled her passion and belief in the power of community and founded Community Jewelry Arts Studio, a space where people can learn the ancient art of jewelry making in a warm and welcoming environment.
